The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has expanded its "Red to Blue" programme, adding five new candidates it believes can help Democrats retake the House of Representatives at the upcoming midterms. The scheme provides targeted support and resources to candidates running in competitive districts currently held by Republicans, and its expansion signals the party's growing confidence in specific races ahead of the election.

The newly added candidates include Tom Perriello in Virginia, Nancy Lacore in South Carolina, Matt Dunlap in Maine and Zach Dembo in Kentucky, among others named by the DCCC. The move comes as DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene has pledged that House Democrats will have the resources needed to promote their message, amid wider turbulence within the party during the current primary season.
