GTA 6 U.S. Army Deal Has Already Convinced at Least 20 Soldiers to Reenlist

IGN · 5 hours ago

At least 20 US soldiers have chosen to re-enlist after an Army base in Fort Stewart, Georgia, offered time off as an incentive to play Grand Theft Auto 6 upon its launch. The scheme, run by the 3rd Infantry Division's 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion, is a novel recruitment tactic designed to make re-enlistment more appealing by tying it to something soldiers are personally excited about, according to commanders involved.

Around 130 soldiers at the base are eligible, and those who commit to a further two to six years of service will receive four days off to play the game. Applications close on 14 November 2026, just before GTA 6's 19 November release date. The news comes amid a wave of leaked footage circulating online since 18 August, while Rockstar prepares a Netflix first-look showcase on 27 August, with Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick suggesting it will offer more than a brief teaser.
