Fear Factory will release “Roboticist” on 29 August, its first single featuring singer Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber. The release is significant because it introduces the band’s current touring line-up on record and previews its next album, which guitarist Dino Cazares says retains the group’s established heavy, melodic industrial-metal sound while moving its concept forward.

An instrumental version of the song appeared in 2023 to promote a guitar software product, but the band has since reworked its arrangement and added vocals. “Roboticist” will arrive as Fear Factory begins its “Cybernetic Domination” European tour in Poznan, Poland, running until 10 October in London; the forthcoming album will explore artificial intelligence, humanity’s obsolescence and a struggle against extinction.
