YouTube Premium is becoming more expensive for subscribers in Singapore and several European markets, with reported rises on Individual plans ranging from roughly 10% to 17%. Google has not issued a public statement or list of affected countries, and the increases have instead come to light through subscriber emails, price-change notices, and reports from outlets including 9to5Google, Android Authority and TNW. The move follows a similar pattern to previous rounds of price rises and matters because it affects a large global subscriber base without formal announcement, leaving users to discover changes individually.

For most affected subscribers, new rates apply from their first billing date on or after 23 September, though a notice seen by TNW for a Romanian subscriber set different dates, raising the plan from RON 29.00 to RON 32.00 and requiring acceptance by 10 October or facing cancellation, with the new price taking effect on 12 October. The wording closely echoes messaging used in a September 2024 European price rise, when some countries, including Norway, saw increases of over 40%. This latest round comes four months after YouTube raised US prices across all Premium and Music tiers, with the Individual plan rising from $13.99 to $15.99 monthly; YouTube Premium and Music together count around 125 million subscribers globally, including trial users.
