Adobe has updated Photoshop with a new Markup feature that lets users draw directly on an image and combine those sketches with text prompts to indicate AI-generated edits. The update also adds Lightroom-style lighting adjustments within Photoshop, addressing a longstanding workflow gap by allowing RAW-quality tonal changes without leaving the application or editing destructively.

Markup can be used to recolour selected areas, draw arrows for placement or sketch rough objects that Adobe’s Firefly Image 5 then turns into photorealistic additions. Other additions include masked prompt-based edits, a beta AI Assisted Editor grouping several generative tools, Dynamic Text for custom shapes and paths, and an integrated panel offering over 900 million Adobe Stock assets; the features are available through the latest Creative Cloud update.
