Warner Records Nashville chair and president Cris Lacy is set to join the SOURCE Nashville Hall of Fame, recognising her leadership and contribution to the country music industry. She says an early experience speaking with strip-club staff taught her to avoid snap judgements and to understand artists and colleagues as complex individuals, an approach she now applies to running a label.

Lacy is one of six women being inducted on 25 August, alongside executives and representatives from MusiCares, AFM Local 257, the Country Music Association, BMI and Big Yellow Dog. The honour comes amid greater visibility for women in country music: women occupied all five positions on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for seven consecutive weeks earlier this summer, though Lacy says women remain underrepresented among both artists and executives.
