Starburns Industries’ Tom Hanks Pic ‘Lincoln In The Bardo’ Adds Willem Dafoe, Jonathan Bailey & Peter Dinklage
Willem Dafoe, Jonathan Bailey and Peter Dinklage have joined the voice cast of Starburns Industries’ *Lincoln in the Bardo*, alongside Tom Hanks as Abraham Lincoln in the film’s live-action scenes. Directed by Duke Johnson and adapted by author George Saunders from his Booker Prize-winning novel, the project combines stop-motion animation with live action to examine Lincoln’s grief after the death of his 11-year-old son.
Dafoe will voice Reverend Everly Thomas, a dead minister dismayed by his afterlife; Bailey will play Roger Bevins, a young man who regrets taking his own life; and Dinklage will voice Hans Vollman, who longs to reunite with his younger wife. Johnson, Paul Young and Devon Young Rabinowitz are producing with Hanks and Gary Goetzman, while CAA Media Finance and WME Independent will handle sales at the Toronto International Film Festival market.
