Fear Factory have released Roboticist, their first new song in five years, timed to coincide with the date Skynet becomes self-aware in Terminator 2. The single explores artificial intelligence and the risks created by its human inventors, continuing the band’s longstanding focus on the relationship between people and machines.

Roboticist is the first single from Fear Factory’s forthcoming 11th album and marks vocalist Milo Silvestro’s recording debut after he replaced Burton C Bell in 2023. Guitarist Dino Cazares said Silvestro was discovered through Fear Factory cover videos posted on Facebook during the Covid period, before joining ahead of a 2023 tour with Static-X.
