Pokémon Go ‘Mega Ascension’ event raid schedule and bonuses
Pokémon Go has launched "Mega Ascension," a week-long event running from 31 August to 6 September that puts extra focus on Mega Evolved Pokémon ahead of the larger "Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Mega Finale" weekend event. The event raises the daily remote raid limit to 30, though most other perks require purchasing the accompanying Go Pass, making it primarily a lead-in to boost preparation for the main weekend celebration.
Alongside the event, several previously datamined features have gone live: Mega Mewtwo now has its Adventure Effects, and Mega Pokémon capable of reaching Super Max Level gain an extra charged attack (marked with a plus sign) when Mega Evolved. A rotating schedule of Mega Raids will feature Pokémon that originally debuted in tougher Super Mega Raids, now appearing without shields and requiring fewer players, albeit for less Mega Energy. The standard Go Pass is free, but a $14.99 deluxe upgrade unlocks substantially more Mega Energy, particularly tied to players' chosen Kalos starter Pokémon; the pass's level cap will be lifted during the Mega Finale weekend, making it easier to complete. Unevolved forms of the featured Mega Pokémon will also spawn more frequently during the week.
