Pearl Abyss has launched a free browser-based demo for its upcoming action-RPG Crimson Desert, allowing players to try the game via a Twitch stream rather than downloading it. This sidesteps the usual barrier of large game demos requiring significant storage space, offering an accessible way for potential buyers to sample the title before committing to a purchase.

Players can access the 20-minute demo through Twitch, where they are dropped straight into the Hernandian Territory rather than a tutorial sequence, letting them explore freely and restart as many times as they like once the timer runs out. Crimson Desert normally requires around 150GB of storage on PC, according to its Steam listing. Pearl Abyss has not said how long the demo will remain available, but the full game is currently discounted by 20% on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation Store, Steam and Xbox Games Store until 9 September.
