Destructoid · 5 hours ago

The Blood of Dawnwalker, the debut title from Polish studio Rebel Wolves, has sold more than one million copies within 48 hours of its launch on 3 September. The studio, founded by veterans of The Witcher 3 including former game and art directors, has thanked players for the swift success of its first release, marking a strong entry into the industry for the new label.

Reviews have been broadly positive, with aggregate scores sitting in the mid-80s and Destructoid's own review awarding 9.5 out of 10, praising the game's story, gameplay and time-passing mechanics. However, players have reported technical issues, including bugs, stuttering and stability problems, particularly in densely populated areas such as the city of Svartrau, which the Unreal Engine 5-built game struggles to run smoothly even on powerful hardware. Some players have also drawn attention for modding out the game's time-passing mechanic despite it being highlighted as a key strength.
