‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Has Already Made $50 Million in Pre-Sales, Three Months Before Release
Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Doomsday" has generated $50 million in domestic pre-sales a full three months before its December release, a sign of strong early consumer demand for the film. Disney's Chief Financial Officer Hugh Johnston revealed the figures at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, noting that over 70% of these advance sales are for "Infinity Vision" tickets, a new premium large-format screen certification Disney unveiled at CinemaCon.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film unites an unprecedented roster of Marvel characters, including the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and the original X-Men, against villain Victor Von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. Returning stars include Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Paul Rudd, alongside the official MCU debut of former Fox X-Men actors such as Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Channing Tatum. The film is due for release on 18 December, with Marvel also running a companion "Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday" podcast revisiting the Infinity Saga films ahead of launch.
