A 54-year-old Florida father, Christian Bradley Williams, has been charged with rape, indecent assault and battery after allegedly assaulting a 22-year-old female employee aboard his family's yacht in Nantucket Harbor. The alleged attack took place on 9 August, hours after his wife left the boat to take their two-year-old son to start preschool, leaving Williams alone on the vessel with the young deckhand.

According to a police report, Williams invited the alleged victim, who had been working aboard the yacht "Chimera" since June in exchange for accommodation, to dinner and asked her to wear a dress, later making a series of suggestive comments towards her. Back on the boat, she said he pressed her to have another drink despite her reluctance; she became dizzy and lost her vision after drinking a rum cocktail he made, and alleges she then woke to find him assaulting her. Williams has pleaded not guilty to all charges following his arraignment and is expected to post $50,000 cash bail, which his wife is bringing to the island.
