Spotify has introduced a new setting that lets users exclude children's and family-oriented music from shaping their personal recommendations, preventing songs like nursery rhymes or Disney soundtracks from skewing features such as Discovery Weekly, Daily Mix and the annual Wrapped recap. The change addresses a common frustration for parents who share an account or device with their children, where repeated listens to kids' content can distort what the algorithm suggests is their own taste.

The feature appears as a toggle labelled "Include kids and family music in taste profile" within account settings, and is available to both Free and Premium users. Changes can take up to 48 hours to filter through to recommendations, though the toggle also works retroactively, meaning previously logged listening can still be stripped from Wrapped. It builds on earlier Spotify tools, including 2025's Managed accounts for children on family plans, as well as existing options to exclude playlists or hide individual tracks from a user's taste profile.
