A transgender former police officer has gone on trial in Germany accused of raping a 14-year-old girl and possessing a large quantity of child sexual abuse material. The case, being heard at Traunstein Regional Court, has drawn significant attention given the defendant's former profession and the severity of the alleged offences, which include producing bestiality content and distributing pornographic material alongside the rape and abuse charges.

Prosecutors allege the 55-year-old raped a friend's daughter in the toilet of a restaurant in August 2025, having previously sent the girl a pornographic message from a police station. Investigators say files depicting violence against children as young as three, along with other explicit material, were recovered from the defendant's computer. A plea bargain has been agreed under which a conviction would carry a three to three-and-a-half-year prison sentence, contingent on a full confession, and could shorten proceedings originally scheduled to run until a verdict on 8 October, potentially sparing the teenage victim from testifying.
