Claude now generates documents and presentations within chat

Engadget · 57 minutes ago

Anthropic has launched Claude Docs, a new feature enabling its Claude AI assistant to generate editable documents, slides and presentations directly within a chat conversation, rather than requiring users to navigate to separate tools. This is part of a broader "One Claude" push to unify the app's various capabilities into a single interface, as users had reportedly been confused about which mode to use for which task, since work didn't carry over between them.

Documents created through Claude Docs start private but can be shared with colleagues, edited within Claude, or exported to Google Docs or Microsoft Word; presentations can likewise be edited in-app or downloaded as PowerPoint or PDF files. Anthropic is also merging its Cowork agentic-task mode and Artifacts sidebar feature into one interface, so that capabilities from any conversation retain existing context, skills and connectors. The changes are rolling out to Pro and Max subscribers over the coming weeks across web, desktop and mobile, with Team and Free plan users to follow "soon".
