Alan Ritchson’s ‘Reacher’ Officially Loses Streaming Crown on Prime Video

Collider · 18 hours ago

Prime Video's flagship series Reacher has officially lost its top position on the platform following the debut of its spin-off Neagley on 16 September. The new series, starring Maria Sten as private investigator Frances Neagley, immediately climbed to number one on the global Prime Video viewership rankings, whilst Reacher slipped to second place. This demonstrates the strength of the Reacher franchise and Prime Video's strategy to expand it into a broader universe.

Neagley released all eight episodes of its first season simultaneously, unlike Reacher's weekly release schedule. Both shows have received strong critical acclaim, with Neagley holding a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes compared to Reacher Season 4's 94%. Reacher accumulated over 5.5 billion minutes watched within its first four weeks of the season, suggesting the full season could reach approximately 15 billion minutes. The success of Neagley's launch has already caused other Prime Video titles, including Sterling Point and Off Campus, to slip further down the viewership charts, whilst a fifth season of Reacher has already been confirmed.

  • Reacher spin-off Neagley debuts at number one, pushing original series to second place.
  • Both shows critically acclaimed; Reacher recorded 5.5 billion minutes watched in four weeks.
  • Prime Video plans broader Reacher franchise with season five already confirmed.
