The United States has invited Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit scheduled for Miami in December, marking the first major summit with the Russian leader since his invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the invitation, stating it provides an opportunity for Putin to engage with Trump and other world leaders. Putin has not attended a G20 summit in person since 2019, though he attended virtually in 2023. The December summit will be held at Trump National Doral golf club.
