Jesse Huerta has decided to leave Jesse & Joy after 21 years, citing the need to prioritise his well-being and family. His sister Joy said she learnt of the decision shortly before his public announcement and, despite feeling emotional and frightened, confirmed she would continue the project as a solo performer.

Jesse will honour the duo’s commitments until 5 December, while the El Despecho Tour is scheduled to finish on 17 November. Joy will perform the 6 December Christmas concert in Mexico City alone and plans to continue Jesse & Joy’s scheduled activities into 2027; the duo’s career includes six Latin Grammy Awards and Billboard hits such as “¡Corre!” and “Mi Tesoro”.
