Police in east London arrested wanted man Roy Hallissey after disguising officers as a takeaway courier and street cleaner. The operation targeted Hallissey at a Poplar market where he regularly appeared but avoided whenever he saw uniformed police, and matters because he was carrying a machete while breaching a court order banning him from the area.

Hallissey had previously been convicted of stabbing but failed to attend his sentencing hearing, and was also wanted over an alleged assault on an emergency worker. He admitted possessing a bladed article, breaching the criminal behaviour order, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified, assaulting police and escaping lawful custody; he is due to be sentenced on 7 October.
