Hemin Braim Abdullah, 46, avoided immediate imprisonment after admitting that he used a Bluetooth earpiece to cheat in his driving theory test on three occasions. He paid £600 for someone to provide answers during the exam, undermining the testing system and raising concerns about road safety because successful candidates are expected to understand essential driving knowledge.
Abdullah was first caught at a Croydon test centre in November 2022 and was refused entry at Southwark in February 2024 after another earpiece was detected. He passed at Bournemouth in October 2024, but CCTV revealed that he had cheated, so his certificate was revoked. The court imposed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, and ordered him to pay £687 in prosecution costs; he later passed the test legitimately.
