Aaron Dessner, a member of The National and a prominent collaborator with artists including Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan and Ed Sheeran, is launching Long Pond Music with Interscope Records. The label aims to provide artists with time, space and creative support to develop their music, building on the reputation of Dessner’s Long Pond studio in New York’s Hudson Valley.

Long Pond Music’s first signing is songwriter Hudson Ingram, who has already worked extensively at the studio. Dessner says he intends to remain closely involved creatively, while drawing on his previous experience co-founding Brassland and the artist collective 37d03d (PEOPLE); he describes the new label as a modest outlet for fostering artists rather than building a large business empire.
