Barcelona sporting director Deco has denied that the club is interested in signing Manchester United teenager JJ Gabriel. The 15-year-old travelled to Barcelona after telling United he wanted to leave, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris St-Germain also reportedly monitoring him.

Gabriel has not trained with United since scoring a hat-trick on his UEFA Youth League debut on 10 September, although tournament rules mean he cannot represent another club in this season’s competition. He could join an EU club when he turns 16 on 6 October if he secures an EU passport through his family heritage. United manager Michael Carrick has urged caution over the scrutiny surrounding the youngster.
