Documentary on Carlo Acutis draws 4.3 million Italian viewers

Daily Mail · 1 day ago

A documentary about Carlo Acutis, the teenager known as “God’s Influencer”, drew nearly 4.3 million viewers on Italian television, capturing almost 30 per cent of the audience. It tells the story of Acutis, who died of leukaemia aged 15 in 2006 and was canonised by Pope Leo in September 2025.

Born in London and raised in Milan, Acutis built a multilingual website about Eucharistic miracles and was known for his religious devotion and kindness to vulnerable people. The Catholic Church recognised two reported cures as miracles attributed to him: a child’s pancreatic condition in 2020 and a woman’s brain haemorrhage in 2024. More than a million people are estimated to have visited his tomb in Assisi, where his preserved body is displayed.
