Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a fantasy series based on Rick Riordan’s books. It follows Percy, a teenager who learns he is the son of the Greek sea god Poseidon, and the dangers he faces alongside other young demigods.
The series was made for Disney+ and has also been licensed to Netflix, allowing subscribers there to watch it. Its story draws on Greek mythology, where gods, monsters and heroes feature in tales that have been retold for centuries.
A third season is planned, based on the book The Titan’s Curse. The show’s arrival on another streaming service gives it a chance to reach viewers who may not have watched it on Disney+.
