Rail work to disrupt Christmas Eve travel

feeds.bbci.co.uk ·

Trains will not stop at or pass through Doncaster station from the early hours of Christmas Eve until services resume on 27 December, as Network Rail carries out engineering work. The closure will disrupt festive journeys, though the upgrades are intended to improve railway reliability.

Engineers will renew more than 640 metres of track through the station, along with switches and crossing units. Work will continue on Christmas Day and Boxing Day; passengers are advised to check with their train operator or National Rail before travelling and allow extra time if using replacement buses or coaches.
