Prime Video’s New Sci-Fi-Inspired Rom-Com Is Officially No. 1 on Streaming
The Love Hypothesis, a Prime Video adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s romance novel, has become the service’s most-watched film in the US. Its success reflects the streamer’s run of popular romance adaptations and may have been helped by the book’s origins as Star Wars fan fiction.
The film stars Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman, whose real-life partner is Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley. It has overtaken Now You See Me: Now You Don’t on Prime Video’s US chart. A sequel novel, The Two-Body Problem, is due on 2 February 2027, and a film adaptation is reportedly in development.
