‘Bigger than ever’ Christmas market plans revealed
Sheffield City Council has announced an expanded Christmas programme, with markets, attractions and festive events across the city centre. The plans aim to draw residents and visitors into the centre while giving local businesses a seasonal boost.
More than 50 market cabins will open from 12 November at Fargate, Pinstone Street and The Moor, and 80% are expected to be run by local traders. The programme also includes an artificial ice rink, big wheel and snow slide, plus a free ticketed opening-weekend celebration on Devonshire Green; illuminations are planned across eight city-centre locations.
