Bungie is still busy with Marathon and Destiny, but Star Wars could reportedly be next

Destructoid ·

Reports say Bungie may be one of two studios considered to develop a follow-up to Star Wars Battlefront 2. The possibility matters because the game has had no sequel since 2017, while Bungie’s future projects beyond its current plans remain uncertain.

The rumour, attributed to Electronic Gaming Monthly and repeated by Jeff Grubb, says Disney wants to expand the Battlefront series and Lucasfilm is seeking a development partner. EA Dice, which made the last game, is also reportedly in the running. No decision has been announced, and Bungie’s previous work with Lucasfilm was on Destiny 2: Renegades.

  • Bungie is reportedly among two studios considered for a Battlefront sequel.
  • EA Dice, developer of the 2017 game, is also said to be in contention.
  • No partner has been confirmed; the report remains unverified.
