Police seek 24-month extension to order protecting Sydney woman from O’Keefe
Police have applied to extend an apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) protecting a prominent Sydney woman from former television host Andrew O’Keefe, according to O’Keefe. The order expired earlier this month and is due to be considered at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday; O’Keefe says there has been no incident to prompt the application.
O’Keefe said he was told the woman still feared for her safety and police sought a further 24 months of protection. He has not breached the current order, he said, and has not faced court for any offence since February 2025. O’Keefe was found guilty in January 2024 of assault-related offences and breaching an ADVO, and received an 18-month community correction order.
- Police seek a further 24 months on an expired ADVO.
- O’Keefe says no new incident prompted the application.
