California nurse’s husband claimed ICE took her — now he’s charged with murder

Fox News ·

Gurinder Gill has been charged with murdering his wife, Jasmine Gill, after allegedly telling police that immigration agents had taken her from their Sacramento home. The case matters because investigators say that account was contradicted by ICE, while Jasmine’s remains had already been found in a neighbouring county.

Jasmine, 30, was an India-born registered nurse and mother of an eight-month-old; she and Gill, 28, were going through a divorce and child custody dispute. She was last seen on 30 September, reported missing on 4 October, and her burned and buried remains were found on 1 October about 70 miles from the couple’s home. Gill was arrested on 14 October and is being held without bail; a fundraiser has raised more than $21,000 to help return her remains to her mother and support her son.

  • Husband charged after wife’s remains were found.
  • ICE said no enforcement took place at their home.
