Carer dies after attack at Bridgend retirement complex; man arrested
A 47-year-old carer died after being attacked at work in a retirement housing complex in Bridgend, South Wales, and then crashing her car while trying to reach hospital. Police say her injuries were unrelated to the collision; a 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The woman, from North Cornelly, drove about 300 yards before hitting a wall around midday on Monday. Neighbours said she had been told there would be a long wait for an ambulance. South Wales Police carried out a large operation near the complex, and the housing association said it was co-operating with the investigation.
