Teen convicted of attempting to murder pupil in school stabbing
A 16-year-old boy has been convicted of attempted murder after stabbing a 15-year-old girl at Thorpe St Andrew School near Norwich. The attack prompted a school lockdown and an armed police search; the conviction followed a two-week trial at King’s Lynn Crown Court.
The boy was 15 when he approached the girl in a corridor on 11 May and stabbed her in the back near her shoulder blade. She was treated in hospital and discharged the next day. The court heard he had made videos featuring fictional and real serial killers and written notes about violence, misogyny and plans to kill several people. He admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a bladed article, but denied attempted murder.
