Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Yellowstone’ Replacement Officially Casts a New Kayce Dutton

*Marshals* has cast Berlin Enrique Nelson as a younger Kayce Dutton, expanding the character’s story through flashbacks in its second season. The role begins in Episode 4, “Blast Radius”, as Kayce reflects on pivotal moments from his past and tries to guide his son, Tate, away from the path he fears they may share.

The series follows Kayce, played by Luke Grimes, after the Dutton family gives most of its ranch to the Broken Rock Reservation and he loses his wife to cancer. He joins the U.S. Marshals and works alongside former Navy SEAL friend Peter Calvin, while raising Tate. Nielsen figures cited in the article put the first season above 20 million viewers; the Season 2 premiere drew more than 8 million. It is unclear whether Nelson’s role will continue beyond the episode.
