Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Review So Far

IGN ·

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ extraction mode has made a strong early impression, with a larger map and more varied objectives than its 2022 predecessor. The reviewer says its missions encourage exploration and give each run a sense of tension, though it is too early to judge how the player-versus-player experience will develop.

Set in the fictional Korean region of Hajin, the map has urban areas, forests, checkpoints and points of interest, and is large enough that a roughly 30-minute run may cover only part of it. Dynamic Operations appear during matches, sending squads on tasks such as securing packages, destroying targets or escorting VIPs; completing them yields increasingly valuable supply drops. After about five hours of play during early access, the reviewer reports limited encounters with other players and notes that the region can look repetitive.

  • Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ makes a promising early impression.
  • Dynamic missions and escalating rewards shape each run.
  • The reviewer has played about five hours so far.
