Sara Bareilles Is “Still Holding Out” For A ‘Girls5eva’ Movie: “We’d Do It In A Heartbeat”

Sara Bareilles says she is still hoping for a film based on Girls5eva, the comedy series that ended after three seasons. She says she and her co-stars would take part “in a heartbeat”, and believes a film could give the story a finite ending.

Bareilles said the cast had wanted to tour and explore other projects, but the series stopped when funding ended. Girls5eva ran from 2021 to 2024, following four surviving members of a late 1990s girl group trying to make a comeback; Bareilles starred with Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, Renée Elise Goldsberry and Ashley Park.
