Firm behind Prince Harry’s failed case reportedly seeks insolvency advice
Thomson Heath Jenkins, a law firm involved in Prince Harry and six other claimants’ failed case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, has reportedly called in insolvency specialists and closed its office. The reported financial difficulties follow a high-profile trial in which the High Court dismissed all the claimants’ allegations against the publisher’s journalists.
The claimants alleged phone hacking, landline tapping, car tracking and other unlawful information gathering. In July, the judge rejected all 97 allegations; the group later faced a costs bill of up to £34.5 million and an indemnity costs order. The firm, founded by solicitor Mark Thomson, did not respond to a request for comment, despite recently announcing a high ranking in the Chambers & Partners UK Guide 2027.
