Teenage boy dies in Bristol crash following police pursuit

Daily Mail ·

A teenage boy died after a Nissan Juke collided with an Audi A3 at a junction on the A37 Wells Road in south Bristol at about 4am on Sunday. The Nissan had been involved in a police pursuit, so the death has prompted a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct and an investigation into the circumstances.

Three other people were taken to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening: two teenage passengers from the Nissan and the Audi’s driver. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving; the road reopened after 4pm once the vehicles were removed. Police say enquiries are at an early stage and are seeking witnesses and footage.
