Conan Exiles Enhanced Is a Major Visual Upgrade for PS5, Free for Existing Players

Push Square ·

Funcom is bringing Conan Exiles Enhanced to PS5 in early 2027, with a major visual upgrade and improvements to performance, usability and the interface. The free release gives existing PS4 owners a way to keep playing the open-world survival game with updated technology.

Built in Unreal Engine 5, the edition uses Nanite and Lumen, and its trailer compares the new visuals with the PS4 version. Existing owners keep their DLC and Bazaar purchases; travel between the main map and Isle of Siptah will also be more streamlined. Funcom also plans to bring its other survival game, Aloft, to PS5 for its 1.0 launch in early 2027.

In short

  • Conan Exiles Enhanced arrives on PS5 in early 2027.
  • The upgrade is free for existing PS4 owners.
  • DLC and Bazaar purchases carry over.

Explained simply

Conan Exiles is an open-world survival game set in a fantasy world inspired by the stories of Conan the Barbarian. Players explore, gather resources, build shelters and face hostile creatures and other dangers. The game was first released on PlayStation 4, as well as other platforms.

Funcom, the game’s developer and publisher, is updating the PlayStation version using Unreal Engine 5, a newer tool for making games. Nanite and Lumen are technologies in that engine that help create detailed environments and realistic lighting. The update also concerns performance, controls and menus, which affect how the game runs and feels to play.

For existing players, retaining purchased add-ons and Bazaar items matters because these can include extra content or in-game goods. Isle of Siptah is a separate area of the game, so making travel between it and the main map easier could affect how players move between parts of the world.
