Magic Is Reprinting a $20 Commander Powerhouse as a Star Trek Fan Favorite

Wizards of the Coast has revealed five Star Trek-themed Secret Lair Drops ahead of its upcoming Magic: The Gathering crossover set. The headline for Commander players is a reprint of Thrasios, Triton Hero as “Tendi, Exploring the Future”, giving fans a Lower Decks version of a popular card that costs around $20 in other printings.

Thrasios is a two-mana green-blue creature whose four-mana ability can reveal and play a land or draw a card, making it a flexible resource engine. Its Partner ability lets players pair it with another eligible commander, including the Lower Decks Drop’s new Silas Renn as Rutherford. The Drop also features Mariner, Boimler and the U.S.S. Cerritos, and is due to go on sale on 9 November at noon ET while supplies last. Other revealed Drops draw on transporter scenes, Klingon cards and The Wrath of Khan.
