2026 midterm election voter guides: Find local resources in your community

With the US midterm elections approaching on 3 November 2026, NPR has assembled a state-by-state directory of voter guides and local election reporting from its member stations. The collection is designed to help voters look beyond the prominent congressional contests to races and ballot measures in their own communities. NPR says its network is also following governors’ races and proposals concerning abortion, LGBTQ+ rights and taxes on billionaires.

The linked resources vary by location. They include statewide guides, information on local candidates and measures, and reporting from individual regions. Voters can use a guide to understand the choices on their ballot, then check the relevant state or local election office for official details such as their polling place and hours. US government guidance notes that a sample ballot shows what will appear on the ballot, while a voter guide can provide background on candidates and issues.
