Dark Horse Books is publishing an expanded edition of *Art of Over the Garden Wall*, revisiting the animated miniseries’ development with new artwork and an interview. The release offers fans a closer look at how familiar characters evolved, including Beatrice, whose early designs differed markedly from the bluebird seen in the show.

The 240-page hardcover, written by Patrick McHale and Sean Edgar, adds more than 30 pages to the original 2017 book and is due on 9 February 2027. Preview pages include sketches of Greg’s frog and an early version of Beatrice as a bee; McHale says the bee was changed because it would not suit autumn weather.
