‘Obsession’ Breakout Inde Navarrette to Receive Rising Star Award at Palm Springs Film Awards (EXCLUSIVE)

Inde Navarrette, who stars in horror hit “Obsession”, will receive the Rising Star Award at the Palm Springs International Film Awards. The honour adds to her awards-season attention and could boost her profile in the best actress Oscar race, where horror performances have historically faced challenges.

“Obsession” has earned a 94% Rotten Tomatoes score and more than $500 million worldwide, the biggest gross for a Focus Features release. Navarrette plays Nikki Freeman in the thriller, written and directed by Curry Barker; past Rising Star recipients include Ariana Grande, Timothée Chalamet and Jennifer Lawrence, who went on to Oscar nominations. Navarrette’s upcoming roles include Rogue in Marvel’s next “X-Men” film.
