Bears prove they are NFC North’s most complete team with commanding win over Seahawks
The Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on the road, strengthening the case that they are the most complete team in the NFC North. The win lifted Chicago to 6-2 and showed it could score against a defence that had allowed the fewest yards per game, while also making key plays on defence.
Chicago gained 363 yards, including 237 passing, and Caleb Williams became the first quarterback to pass for more than 200 yards against Seattle’s defence. D’Andre Swift scored three rushing touchdowns, while Jeffery Simmons, making his Bears debut after a trade, recorded a sack and two tackles for loss. The Bears remain behind the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings in the division; the Seahawks managed only 81 rushing yards.

Explained simply
The Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks are teams in the National Football League (NFL), the United States’ top professional American football league. Chicago competes in the NFC North, a division that also includes the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
A team’s record counts its wins and losses during the regular season, and division rivals compete for a place in the play-offs. The Bears’ progress matters to their chances of catching Minnesota, while performances on both offence and defence help show how they compare with other teams.
Chicago’s attack is led by quarterback Caleb Williams, who throws the ball and helps direct plays. Running back D’Andre Swift carries the ball, while the defence tries to stop opponents scoring; teams can also trade players during the season, as Chicago did in bringing in defender Jeffery Simmons.
