Batter Bean joins Northants from Yorkshire
Northamptonshire have signed wicketkeeper-batter Finlay Bean from Yorkshire on a three-year deal. The move gives the 24-year-old a new opportunity to develop at the Division Two club, after he came through Yorkshire’s academy and spent last season’s red-ball campaign in the county’s second XI.
Bean scored 2,649 runs in 48 first-class matches for Yorkshire and made 517 runs in 30 List A games. His best County Championship innings was 224 against Nottinghamshire in June 2025; he last played in the competition in May before finishing the red-ball season in the second XI. Northamptonshire head coach Darren Lehmann said the club had tracked Bean for some time and hoped he would become an asset to the team.
