Florida polling places in 7 counties are moving locations due to flooding
Flooding has forced polling places to move in seven Florida counties on Election Day, with voters directed to temporary sites. Governor Ron DeSantis issued an emergency order allowing county election officials to seek approval for alternative arrangements when flood conditions prevent polling places from meeting requirements.
The affected counties are Brevard, Highlands, Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie. Heavy rain from 31 October to 2 November triggered flash-flood warnings and threatened roads and other infrastructure; voters are advised to confirm their assigned location with state or county election officials. Florida polls are open from 7am to 7pm local time, and anyone in line at closing may still vote.
In short
- Flooding has moved polling places in seven Florida counties.
