British Star Loses Bid To Stop ITN & Guardian Publishing Sexual Misconduct Allegations
A High Court judge has rejected a well-known British man’s bid to stop ITN and The Guardian publishing sexual misconduct allegations against him. The ruling concerns whether publication can be blocked, not whether the allegations are true, and the judge said it does not endorse any decision to publish.
The man, identified in court as PPT, remains temporarily protected from being named while an appeal is pending. ITN and The Guardian say their reporting is based on accounts from more than 30 sources and concerns alleged inappropriate and exploitative sexual activity involving girls and young women. PPT denies wrongdoing; his lawyers argued publication could put him at serious risk, citing two previous suicide attempts.
In short
- A High Court judge rejected PPT’s bid to block publication.
- A temporary order still prevents him from being named pending appeal.
- The court did not assess whether the allegations are true.
