The Dazey Phase Boards ‘Americanish’ Creator-Star Aizzah Fatima’s New Movie ‘Miss Christian Babe’

The Dazey Phase has joined Miss Christian Babe as a coproducer. The feature is the directorial debut of Aizzah Fatima, creator and star of Americanish, and explores growing up Muslim in the American South, including questions of faith, identity and belonging.

Set in Mississippi, the film draws on Fatima’s teenage years in the state before she moved to New York. She said her upbringing involved church on Sundays and pageants on Saturdays, a world she had not seen represented on screen. Producers include Dazey Phase co-head Jake Casey, business and strategy head Danielle Benedict, and Rohi Mirza Pandya, whose work includes film marketing and audience strategy.
