The 2019 movie Quentin Tarantino refuses to watch: “I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done”
Quentin Tarantino says he has no interest in watching *Toy Story 4*, despite praising *Toy Story 3* as one of the best films he has seen. He sees the third film’s ending, in which Andy gives his toys to Bonnie before leaving for college, as a powerful conclusion to Andy and Woody’s story.
In an interview with Bill Maher, Tarantino described Sergio Leone’s three westerns, from *A Fistful of Dollars* to *The Good, the Bad and the Ugly*, as the only trilogy that fully succeeds, with each film expanding on the previous one. He also praised *Toy Story 3* but argued that its story had reached a satisfying endpoint; *Toy Story 4* later revisited the characters, with its makers citing Woody’s life beyond Andy and Bo Peep’s return as reasons to continue.
In short
- Tarantino calls *Toy Story 3* magnificent.
- He has no desire to watch *Toy Story 4*.
- He sees Andy and Woody’s story as complete.
