Tinashe to Republican Voters During Midterm Elections: ‘Yall Can Go’

Tinashe urged her fans to vote in the US midterm elections, posting “VOTE OR DIE! LETS GO AMERICA” on X alongside blue heart emojis that appeared to signal support for Democrats. When Republican critics challenged the apparent political message and its effect on her fans, she responded bluntly, including “Yall can go” and “I do not care”.

The exchange highlights Tinashe’s willingness to state her political views publicly, even if that alienates some listeners. She has previously discussed her political involvement, including Black Lives Matter, saying in 2020 that she saw it as her responsibility as a public figure to explain views on issues that mattered to her.
